Colorants E100-E199 are a series of food additives used as coloring agents in food production. These colorants are classified as either natural or synthetic and are approved by the European Union for use in the food industry. They are substances that impart color to a food or restore its original coloring, and include natural components of foods as well as other naturally sourced elements.
